I designed and implemented custom four-bar seat hinges for the Arc Sport, reducing cost by 40% compared to OTS solutions. Similar to the image shown, the hinges opened over-centered and held the seats open for storage access. I chose materials and hardware based on extreme load cases, user-exoerience, and environmental factors. I also used hand calcs and kinematic studies to model the hinge.
I revised a camera cover to align with ID intent, reduced manufacturing costs by 50%, and saw through to production. Similar to the function shown in the image, it hides the hardware and protects the camera from environmental and external factors.
I created CNC'd prototypes for helm storage pockets and led sourcing initiatives for suppliers and manufacturers. The design was customized to fit the deck shape and minimized the need for outsourcing. I researched soft good and manufacturing suppliers.
I kickstared the initiative in converting 80% of previously unutilized transom space into functional storage for personal flotation devices and boards, significantly enhancing user experiences.
I researched and gathered COTS latches and hinges to help reduce overall interior BOM costs by 25%. I also helped develop a "gas strut calculator" to determine stroke length and force ratings needed for current and future OTS gas strut use.
