Throughout our semester long contract, my team and I expanded the R&D team’s data resolution by 25x through the design of a handheld force-deflection device and the development of real-time graphing tools, generating plots to visualize stiffness levels and highlight areas of interest for immediate analysis. The device was designed using literature-backed ergonomics principles to accommodate 95% of variation in operator arm sizes, integrating 12 ArUco tags for ±1 mm accurate 3D localization and providing both audio and LED feedback for intuitive operation. I led optimization efforts to reduce weight and improve printability while ensuring durability under 150 N of force and ±50 mm travel. Additionally, I designed and fabricated a modular camera and Raspberry Pi 5 mount, enabling precise localization and immediate computation.
